A collection of 25 historic Polish film posters from the collection of Austin director Richard Linklater
("Fast Food Nation," "A Scanner Darkly," "Slacker") will be exhibited at the Harry Ransom Center on the
University of Texas campus from October 4, 2006 to October 22, 2006. The exhibit highlights the unique
art of Polish posters and includes examples of work from designers such as Tomaszewski and Pagowski will

The exhibition "Feliks Topolski: Portraits of Britain's Twentieth-Century Literary Greats,"
runs from Sept. 5 to Dec. 31, 2006 at the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas at Austin.
Topolski (1907-1989) was a well-respected painter, caricaturist, illustrator and muralist, and
chronicled many of the twentieth century's most significant people and associated historical events.
Born in Poland and centered in London his entire creative career, Combining figurative and abstract
elements with layered gestures of incandescent color, Topolski's artwork particularly his portraits
have been described as rhapsodic, vigorous, volatile and even explosive. Please

This free event is a showcase of award-winning short films from students of the National Film School of Poland ("PWSFTViT"). Prof. Mitko Panov, a graduate of the PWSFTViT, will introduce these films and discuss context about their creation. Also in attendance will be Prof. Andrzej Bednarek of the PWSFTViT who will discuss the film school's history and notable graduates (including Wajda, Kieslowski, Polanski, Kedzierzawska, et al). This event, while directed towards the UT community, welcomes the general public on a space available basis.
