Meet our Guests of Honor director Feliks Falk and artist Leszek Zebrowski. It will be the opening night for the Polish Poster Exhibition of Zebrowski's work at the UT Fine Arts Building second floor gallery. The building is located at San Jacinto & 23rd. Artwork in the gallery will be available for sale, and the artist will also be signing film festival posters. Catering provided by Polonia Restaurant of Houston. Tickets will be sold at the door for $10, donors will receive complimentary invitations to the event. A collection of 25 posters by Leszek Zebrowski will be on display at
the Fine Arts Building, Second floor gallery on the University of Texas
campus at San Jacinto & 23rd from October 19th to November 2nd 2007.
A graduate of Szczecin Art College (Liceum Sztuk Plastycznych) and
Gdansk Academy of Arts (Wyzsza Szkola Sztuk Plastycznych) and Faculty of
Graphic Design under the guidance of prof. Krechowicz, Zebrowski is a very
versatile artist. A painter as well as poster designer, theater set designer,
book illustrator and cartoonist. His works include posters for theaters,
festivals and galleries of Szczecin and Krakow (Poland), Berlin and Lübeck (Germany),
illustrations for Glob Edition House, Krajowa Agencja Wydawnicza
(major Polish poster publisher 1960s - 80s) and Biuro Wystaw Artystycznych
(National Art Exhibitions Bureau). Zebrowski is also an active art promotor
who arranged numerous exhibitions and performances e.g. musical-artistic action
"Przyspieszenie" (Acceleration). His works have been shown on more than
70 individual and collective exhibitions in Poland and abroad. (Source: poster.com.pl)
Zebrowski is the artist for all posters and graphics of the 2006 and 2007 Austin Polish Film Festivals.
This is a free event and open to the general public.

Guest speakers include Graduate Student from the Center for Russian,
East European, and Eurasian Studies Agnieszka Sekowski,
Professor of Slavic and Eurasian Studies at UT Gil Rappaport,
and Assistant Professor of Theater, Dance and Film at UT El Paso
Sheila Skaff who is widely published on the topic of Polish film.
