Opening Reception and first film screening

Meet our Guests of Honor director Jacek Bromski and Mariusz Kotowski. It will be the opening night for the Austin Polish Film Festival followed by the screening of Kotowski's "Pola Negri - Life is a Dream in Cinema". Enjoy Polish food provided by Anna Bielecka and Barbara Poloczek catering company.

Austin Polish Society is honored to host director Jacek Bromski in Austin. Mr. Bromski will be present at the screening of his film "U Pana Boga w Ogródku" ("In God's Little Garden") and will be available for the Q&A session after the screening. As an acclaimed director, screenwriter, producer and, since 1996, President of the Association of Polish Filmmakers, Mr. Bromski presents a unique opportunity for Austin audiences to hear about his artistic work as well as about Polish and European film in general.



The third film screening and introduction by Professor of Slavic and Eurasian Studies at UT-Austin, Gil Rappaport.

Professor Gil Rappaport will open the third screening of the festival with a brief historical background of the events portrayed in Andrzej Wajda's film "Katyń". Prof. Rappaport and his graduate student from the Center for Russian, East European, and Eurasian Studies at UT, Agnieszka Sekowski, will be available for discussion after screening.
