2009 Austin Polish Society Film Internship

A percentage of the proceeds from the Austin Polish Film Festival supports the Austin Polish Society Film Internship.

Purpose of the Internship

The purpose of the APS Internship is to provide a program for visiting film students who best fulfill the objectives of the organization. Polish or American students are provided a stipend and an internship position for one summer (June-August). Visiting foreign students must be currently enrolled at the Państwowa Wyższa Szkoła Filmowa, Telewizyjna i Teatralna im. Leona Schillera w Łodzi, also known as the Łodz Film School, Łodz, Poland. Consideration may also be given to eligible students from the University of Silesia at Katowice Television, Film and Photo Image Department and from resident students attending schools who have a radio, television and film department located in Austin, Texas.

In providing support for a film student intern, APS:
Promotes the research and development of filmmaking;
Supports the learning of new film making technical skills and expertise;
Promotes the growth and knowledge of Polish filmmaking;
Provides opportunities to reinforce bonds between the United States and Poland by facilitating a cultural exchange of ideas.


About the Intern Program

Interns will have the opportunity to increase professional experience, skills, contact and knowledge through collaboration with the University of Texas Film Institute (UTFI).

APS will contribute:

The cost of the intern(s) round trip ticket airfare (if the student is from Poland) to Austin, Texas.
Funds for intern(s) housing and living expenses for the summer semester (June-August).
