Austin Polish Society (APS) is happy to announce that the 2009 Austin Polish Film Festival (APFF) will be held from November 5th through November 8th at the Bob Bullock Texas History Museum, the Texas Spirit Theater, and on November 14th at The University of Texas Campus, Communication building (CMB), Studio 4D.
The Opening Gala on November 5th starts at 6:30pm. The audience will be able to enjoy recent films of Polish artists for four evenings from 6:30pm to 10:30pm. All films will have English subtitles.
The festival is co-sponsored by The Polish Film Institute (PISF), and The Polish Filmmakers Association. Please see the logos of our sponsors below.
The APFF, as a part of the Austin Polish Society, continues to focus on establishing opportunities for artist and student exchanges between Austin and Poland through scholarships and facilitating contacts between Polish and American film schools. Presently, the work is in progress to create a formal relationship between the prestigious Lodz Film School and the University of Texas at Austin Department of Radio-TV-Film (RTF). Fifty per cent (50%) of the festival profits are designated to fund such initiatives.
